Spiders on Your Pizza

Perfect decoration on a pizza.  Halloweeny but not too gross so that you have to close your eyes before you take a bit for fear of a queesy stomach.  Olives are not a loved item but these cute little spiders may make the wary a little curious about taking a bite.  They look good to me!

Recipe:  There really isn't a recipe here, just choose ingredients on your pizza that will help your black olive spiders stand out.

Mini Cheeseball Pumpkins

Ingredients
1 8 oz (250 g) brick cream cheese, softened
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/4 cup very finely chopped red onion
1/4 cup walnut pieces, very finely chopped
2 tsp hot horseradish
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp salt, or to taste
1/2 cup finely crushed orange coloured crackers (see Note)
24 pieces green bell pepper, each 1/2-inch (1 cm) long and 1/8-inch (3 mm) wide

Directions
1. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Place the cream cheese in a bowl and beat with an electric mixer until lightened. Mix in the cheddar cheese, onion, walnuts, horseradish, Worcestershire and salt. Lightly dampen your hands with cold water. Shape the cheese mixture into ¾-inch (2 cm) balls and set on one of the baking sheets.
2. Place the cracker crumbs on a wide plate. Coat one of the cheese balls in the crumbs, gently pressing them on to help them adhere and shaping the ball so it has a nice round shape. Set it on the clean baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining cheese balls. Gently push down in the center of each cheese ball to give it a pumpkin shape. Make a stem by inserting a piece of green pepper into the center of each cheese ball. Tent with plastic wrap and refrigerate the cheese balls at least two hours before serving. The cheese balls can be made up to a day in advance.

Makes 24-30 pumpkins

Vampire Blood Martini

Ingredients:
1 c. Sugar
1/2 c. Karo Syrup
1/2 c. Water
Red Food Coloring

Directions:
Combine sugar, syrup and water. Cook without stirring to hard crack stage – which is 300 degrees F. Add food coloring.
Turn off heat. While the mixture is still hot, dunk the top of the cocktail glass into the mixture to create the red rim. If you need to do several glasses, keep the mixture hot so it lasts longer (instead of turning heat off, just reduce slightly). You can go anywhere from just along the very tip of the rim to part way down the glass – whichever you prefer. Flip the glass right side up to cool. The thick consistency of the mixture will cause “drips” as it hardens on the glass!

Ingredients
6 tablespoons butter or margarine, divided
2 packages (10 oz. each, about 80 total) regular marshmallows, divided
 - or -
8 cups miniature marshmallows, divided
12 cups Kellogg's® Cocoa Krispies® cereal
Canned frosting or decorating gel
Assorted candies

Directions
1. In large saucepan melt 3 tablespoons of the butter over low heat. Add 1 package (10 oz.) of the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Increase heat to medium. Cook and stir about 2 minutes more or until mixture starts to boil. Remove from heat.

2. Add 6 cups of the KELLOGG’S COCOA KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.

3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool.

4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 above using remaining butter, marshmallows and cereal, except press mixture into 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool.

5. To assemble house, place cereal mixture from 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan on foil-lined tray for base.

6. Cut the remaining pan of cereal mixture into eight 5 x 3-inch rectangles for sides and roof of house. With four 5 x 3-inch rectangles, laying vertical, cut at an angle for roof of house. Place the eight pieces 1-inch apart on baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake at 250° F for 25 minutes. Remove from oven. Use spatula or knife to reshape pieces. Cool. Remove from pan.

7. Stand house front near center of base. Generously pipe frosting to attach four 5 x 3-inch rectangles for the house sides. Use frosting to attach roof pieces. Use leftover pieces of cereal to make chimney and trees, if desired. Decorate house with additional frosting and candies, using frosting to attach candies to house.

Note:For best results, use fresh marshmallows.
1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow crème can be substituted for marshmallows.
Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended.
